Happy Halloween!!
There is a little change in our homework again. Our fluency will not be the timed reading that we have had. It will be focused more on what makes a good reader fluent. The next couple of weeks will be working on phrasing, rate and intonation. We will (and did today) have a little lesson on what we are working on each week. These will defiantly not be speed reading passages.
Math will be 'hit and miss' this week. Homework will probably be Tuesday and Thursday.
Animal report
Look on this page for info. We haven't talked about what is required yet, but will tomorrow. If your child want to guarantee they get the animal they want they need to submit a form telling the animal and reason why (by tonight), it has to be an animal that lives in Utah. I'm only taking 7 animals of one kind, meaning when 7 mammals are already being reported on and they haven't chosen they get to choose an other kind of animal.
Red Ribbon Week Activities
Monday: “We are crazy about being drug free” Wear crazy hair and/or crazy socks.
Tuesday: “Don’t be caught sleeping, say no to drugs” Wear your pajamas to school.
Wednesday: “Say Boo! To drugs.” Wear your Halloween costume (parade at 1:00)
Thursday: “Use your head-don’t do drugs” Wear a hat.
Friday: “Team up against drugs” Wear your favorite sports shirt.
Wednesday : Halloween Costume Guidelines
Students should NOT, wear masks, oversized costumes, have extreme face paint, and bring any costume accessories (swords, Wands, etc.)
These are the basic expectations, if you have any clarifying questions please email Mr. Jenkins.
